St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas praised the "collective effort" of his team after Francisco Sandaza's double ensured a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock.

"From 1-11 and the subs coming on, they were different class," Lomas told BBC Radio Scotland.

"Obviously, the goals win you games but the clean sheet; the lads at the back were magnificent.

"The save Peter (Enckelman) made, it must be up there for save of the season. It was a crucial period."

Enckelman's save denied Paul Heffernan a goal and maintained Saints' 2-0 lead, with Sandaza netting twice before half-time.

"Fran will probably get the plaudits again but I believe there's more in the locker," added Lomas.

"He probably thinks I'm picking on him but we know when he gets that work rate, he's a threat and I said to him, 'whenever you work as hard as you do off the ball, you'll get your chances'.

"Fran's got talent, he's a handful."
