Northampton Town are set to extend the stay of striker Saido Berahino on a youth loan from West Bromwich Albion.
Manager Aidy Boothroyd told BBC Radio Northampton: "He's with us because he's not quite ready for the Premier League.
"But he's shown me that with coaching, work and playing games, he's going to another level. He's nowhere near as good as he can be yet."
Berahino, who has four England Under-20 caps, is yet to make his Albion debut but has scored four times in nine appearances for the Cobblers - most recently against Burton Albion.
"Providing that we look after him properly, which we will, and he does what he's supposed to we won't have any problems."
