St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas is adamant striker Francisco Sandaza will only be sold in January if the deal is right for the Perth club.

The 27-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, has scored 12 goals in 17 games this season.

"If somebody wants Fran in January it will have to be beneficial for us," said Lomas. "It's as simple as that.

"It has got to be right for the club, or else we will wait until the end of the year."

Former Saints manager Derek McInnes, now at Bristol City, has been linked with a move for the Spaniard, who has had spells with Dundee United and Brighton.

And media speculation has Sandaza on a list of Rangers targets, should the Ibrox club sell Nikica Jelavic.

The Saints boss added: "I've said to Fran score 25 goals this season and you can go wherever you want."

St Johnstone's impressive form this season may lead to an increase in scouts visiting McDiarmid Park but Lomas is relaxed going into the winter transfer window.

"Everyone's under contract until the end of the season, at least," said Lomas.

"I've got no pressure to sell. It would have to be decent offers and it would have to be beneficial for St Johnstone."
