Southport's on loan midfielder Godfrey Poku says he is still unsure where his immediate future lies.
The 21-year-old's short-term deal from Luton ends on 7 January, with the Sandgrounders keen to extend the deal until the end of the season.
"I still don't know what's going to happen," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"All I want to do is play football whether it's at Southport or Luton. Whatever happens I'm grateful to the club for giving me this opportunity."
Poku added: "If it does get extended then I'll be more than happy and I'll be really excited. If it doesn't, I'll go back to Luton and fight for my place.
"I moved to Luton as a young player and I've come here and I proved to myself I can play at this level and I'm delighted.
"But you can never stop and you have to keep striving to become the best and that's what I want to do wherever it is."
