Aberystwyth deducted Welsh Premier point over ineligible player

Welsh Premier League

Aberystwyth Town have been deducted one point after fielding an ineligible player in a Welsh Premier game.

The unamed player had not been registered correctly before playing in the game away to Llanelli on 8 October.

The club did have the right to appeal to the Football Association of Wales, but chose not to do so.

The point deduction means that the Seasiders have finished the first-phase of fixtures on seventeen points, four above the relegation zone.

Aberystwyth lost the round nine game at Llanelli 2-0.
