Guernsey FC cruised to a first win of 2012 with a 4-1 victory at bottom side Sheerwater in the Combined Counties League Division One.
Ross Allen had a 35th minute penalty saved before Matt Loaring gave Guernsey the lead five minutes later.
Sheerwater equalised on the hour but Allen made amends three minutes later to put Guernsey 2-1 up.
Loaring got his second just a minute later before Ryan-Zico Black scored a penalty with 17 minutes to go.
"We huffed and puffed our way through the match," assistant manager Colin Fallaize told BBC Guernsey.
"I think we showed a bit of rustiness, but nonetheless we pretty much dominated the game against a side who worked very hard."
But Fallaize said it was important that his side got three points after almost a month with a match.
"I always felt that maybe with that little break we might have lost a bit of momentum and we were certainly aware that we didn't want to slip up in our first game in the second half of the season.
"There we no real outstanding contributors but team-wise we at least performed with a work level that we were satisfied with," he added.
