Farnborough boss Spencer Day ready for 'horrible' month

Farnborough manager Spencer Day says the next month will be crucial to their hopes of avoiding relegation from Blue Square Bet South.

The Hampshire side are three points above the relegation zone following back-to-back defeats by Woking.

Day told BBC Surrey: "This is a horrible month for us. We've a difficult set of games.

"If we're positive, stick to game-plans and are tactically sound, we've got the players to get through."

He added: "We'll take the positives from our performances against Woking but we are in a relegation battle and need the fans to get behind us."

Farnborough were unbeaten in four league games before their festive fixtures against Woking, but Day is adamant that survival is his main aim this season.

"We've got to make sure this club doesn't get relegated," he said. "It's a very simple challenge we have.

"We are in a massive battle. That is my sole target at the moment and I don't want to get carried away."
