Yoann Arquin's third goal in four gave Hereford a much needed victory over fellow strugglers Dagenham & Redbridge.
Hereford started the stronger, and took the lead when Joe Colbeck's corner found an unmarked Arquin to head home.
Bulls keeper Adam Bartlett then did well to deny Christian Montano, before Tom Barkuizen shot wide for the visitors.
The Daggers almost snatched a late equaliser but Eoin Wearen glanced Abu Ogogo's cross just wide of the post.
Despite their lowly position in the league table, this is the first defeat the Daggers have suffered in seven matches.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Hereford manager Jamie Pitman told BBC Hereford & Worcester:"The boys have really performed. We've had a nice long weekend together and they've been fantastic for me.
"They look like a new group of players. The spirit that I've had here, and what they do for me, is what I've held on to.
"We certainly had some momentum after half time and that was the best we've done (this season)."
