Swansea City target Nicky Maynard in cash-plus-player deal
Swansea City are willing to include Stephen Dobbie in a cash offer for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard, BBC Wales Sport understands.
The Swans are keen to sign City top scorer Maynard, who has been put up for sale after failing to agree a new deal.
Dobbie has started only two league games for Swansea this season, but the Bristol side are still believed to be interested in the ex-Blackpool striker.
Maynard's contract at Ashton Gate is due to expire at the end of the season.
Bristol City turned down a bid for the 25-year-old, thought to be around £6m from Championship rivals Leicester, in June.
Having joined for £2.25m from Crewe in July 2008, he has gone on to score 45 goals in 125 appearances and has openly expressed his desire to play in the Premier League.
Swansea have already signed Northern Ireland Under-21 striker Rory Donnelly in the January transfer window, but manager Brendan Rodgers wants a more experienced player to offer back-up for first-choice frontman Danny Graham.
Dobbie, who is under contract at Swansea until June 2013, has scored nine goals in 29 league starts.
The 29-year-old Scot helped Blackpool to Premier League promotion in 2010 through the play-off final, repeating the feat with Swansea the following season, scoring in the final victory over Reading.
