"I've been really pleased with what Jason has done so far," boss Aidy Boothroyd told the club website.
"We will review the situation with him again at the end of the season.
"Jason is an experienced player, he is trying to keep himself fit and he wants to carry on playing for as long as he can.
"There are a lot of mercenaries out there and I always want to make sure that players coming towards the end of their career want to carry on playing for the right reasons, but I have no doubts about Jason.
"There have been a lot of comings and goings over the last few weeks and there will be more but I want to get a bit of stability in the right-back slot."
