Dumbarton 1-0 Brechin City

Scottish Football League

Bryan Prunty struck late as Dumbarton claimed victory and leapfrogged opponents Brechin City in the Scottish Second Division.

Prunty pounced to ram home the rebound after Scott Agnew's penalty had been saved.

Earlier, Brechin's Paul McManus fired an effort against the post.

Agnew came close with a shot from 25 yards and team-mate Ally Graham hit the crossbar with a shot from the edge of the box.

The match looked like it was heading for a draw until Bryan Hodge fouled Agnew in the box and, though Craig Nelson palmed away Agnew's shot, Prunty was on hand to rifle the winner and move the Sons up to fourth in the table.
