Cambridge maintained their push for the play-offs as they won at AFC Telford.
Kevin Roberts put the U's ahead with his third goal in four games, steering in after a corner from Rossi Jarvis.
Chris Sharp levelled early in the second half when he volleyed home from 12 yards but Cambridge went back in front only three minutes later.
Tom Shaw turned inside the penalty area and fired past goalkeeper Ryan Young for the winning goal that takes the U's up to seventh in the league table.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Cambridge United manager Jez George told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire:
"For 30 minutes I thought we looked in control of the game.
"They had the conditions behind them and they put us under pressure for the first 10 to 15 minutes, but we weathered that and played some really good football.
"My frustration is that we came out sloppy in the second half."
