Cambridge deservedly went through to the third round of the FA Trophy after a convincing win against Blue Square Bet Premier rivals AFC Telford United.
Cambridge led from the third minute when Dan Preston put through his own net, and Kevin Roberts made it 2-0 right at the start of the second half.
Chris Sharp responded within 10 minutes to give Telford some hope.
But Ashley Carew made it 3-1 on 73 minutes and Liam Hughes sealed things two minutes into stoppage time.
Cambridge were always on top, Hughes also hitting a post for the hosts, while Telford goalkeeper Ryan Young was also forced into action.
"It was a nightmare start to both halves, but we're making too many mistakes at the back," rued Telford boss Andy Sinton.
The two sides face each other again immediately, with a league fixture at Telford on Saturday.
