Tunisia will be without leading scorer Issam Jemaa for at least the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Auxerre striker has been troubled by an injury in his right ankle ahead of the tournament in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
He resumed light training on 10 January but did not play in Tunisia's 2-0 loss to Ivory Coast three days later.
Coach Sami Trabelsi will hope his side can get through their group games and use Jemaa in the quarter-finals.
The Carthage Eagles begin their Group B campaign against north African rivals Morocco on 23 January before games against Niger and Gabon.
