Forest Green Rovers have released Wayne Turk by mutual consent.

The 30-year-old first arrived at the New Lawn on loan from Newport County in October 2010 before signing a permanent deal in January 2011.

Turk has struggled for a first-team place this season, with 11 of his 13 appearances coming as a substitute.

"I've known Wayne for many years and have utmost respect for him as a player and person," Rovers manager Dave Hockaday told the club website.

"Due to work and family commitments he's been unable to dedicate the time to training that he would like to and we both recognised that this was best move for club and player.

"We look forward to Wayne having a continued relationship with Forest Green through youth coaching in the future."
