Linfield defender Kris Lindsay faces another lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee cruciate injury while on loan with Glenavon.

The 27-year-old has been plagued by injuries since his move from Larne to Windsor Park in 2006.

Lindsay was injured on Tuesday after his return to fitness following a cruciate injury in his other knee.

The former Northern Ireland U21 player is on loan with the Lurgan Blues until the end of the season.

Blues boss David Jeffrey told Lindsay he remained in his plans when he moved to Mourneview Park.

"Kris (Lindsay) can prove to himself, as well as to us, that he is ready for another campaign," said Jeffrey earlier this month.

"The simple message has been to him, 'you go and do the business there, get a good run of games and there'll be a contract waiting for you back here at Windsor'.
