Southampton manager Nigel Adkins says he has been impressed by new loan signing Yago Falque and could field him in Monday's game against Leicester.
The 22-year-old Spanish midfielder arrived from Tottenham on Sunday and Adkins says he has fitted in well.
"Yago Falque has settled in very well," Adkins told BBC Radio Solent.
"He will be ready to start straight away. He has come in and his fitness levels are already very good and is part of the group now."
Adkins added: "He is a small Spanish-type player who is technically gifted.
"I went down to Solent University and watched him do his fitness tests. He worked very hard, did some training with the lads in the week and some conditioning work on (Thursday) and did very well."
Meanwhile, Adkins says he hopes to have new Japanese striker Tadanari Lee available for the FA Cup tie with Millwall on 28 January.
"Tadanari is still in Japan and hopefully all the paperwork will go through," added Adkins.
"I know he has been working very hard in Japan and has been training and if he can't make the game on Monday then certainly we'd like to have him for the FA Cup game against Millwall.
"Hopefully by then he'll be raring to go."
