Blue Square Bet Premier side Gateshead have signed striker Philip Airey from Newcastle United on a one-month loan.
The 20-year-old has one first-team outing to his name for the Premier League club, but scored 11 in 13 games for the Magpies' reserves last season.
Airey made one appearance on loan at Scottish Premier League side Hibernian earlier this season, under former Newcastle coach Colin Calderwood.
"Airey is an emerging talent," Tynesiders boss Ian Bogie said.
"He's a player I have admired for some time, he has scored goals for Newcastle reserves and was unfortunate his time in Scotland was curtailed by injury.
"He leads the line well and is very quick. He is another good addition to the squad and it is a signing that will keep everyone on their toes."
Gateshead have already taken Jak Alnwick and Jeff Henderson on loan from Newcastle this term.
