Brighton striker Craig Mackail-Smith is hoping for a warm welcome on his return to old club Peterborough on Saturday.
Mackail-Smith, 27, scored 99 goals in 212 appearances for Posh before his summer move.
He said: "Hopefully I will get a good reception. I felt the fans backed me in the four years I was there.
"I tried to do everything in my power to do the best for the club but I'm going there as a Brighton player to get the three points."
The Scotland international added: "I'm looking forward to going back but I'm trying not to let the emotions run away with me."
The former Dagenham & Redbridge man has only scored one goal in open play in the last 18 games for the Seagulls and is hoping his first visit back to London Road may spark a change of fortune.
"I scored a lot of goals there so hopefully I can kick start there on Saturday," he said.
"It will be tough. They have done brilliantly. They play a great style of football, similar to ours so it will be a very open game."
