AFC Telford United's on-loan defender Ben Futcher believes they have enough talent to avoid relegation.

The Bury defender made his debut for Telford in the 2-1 defeat by Cambridge United, after joining on a one-month loan.

"I'm here to help, if we play like we did in the second half against Cambridge, we'll be fine," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

The 30-year-old spent three months on loan at Mansfield earlier this season.

"It's been frustrating not playing many games at Bury, but every footballer just wants to play. It's my job now to help steer Telford away from the drop," he added.

"There are plenty of young lads in this team and if we keep our spirits high then we'll win more than we'll lose."

Telford play Stockport County on Tuesday night in the hope of securing only their second away win of the season in the league.
