The Guernsey FA has formally begun its search for a new island team manager.

Former boss Tony Vance resigned at the end of last year after a disagreement with the GFA over its rules on selecting players for island matches.

The GFA want someone 'knowledgeable and enthusiastic about local football and with a strong coaching, managerial or playing background.'

The manager will lead the side in Muratti, Island Games and representative fixtures.

Vance, who still manages Guernsey FC, led the island team to victory in the FA National League Systems Cup in 2010 which saw the island represent England in the Uefa Regions Cup in Croatia.

He also guided the island to victory in the 2010 Muratti in Jersey and silver at the Island Games in 2011.
