Steven Leslie has joined Wrexham until the end of the season after his contract at Shrewsbury Town was ended by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old midfielder spent three months on loan with Hereford earlier this season, making 10 appearances in League Two.
"I was training with Shrewsbury this morning and then had the call to say that Wrexham wanted me," he said.
Leslie's move was completed in time for him to be eligible to play on Saturday.
"I had no hesitation in agreeing to come here [to Wrexham] because the team is doing well and I just want to be playing football," he added.
"Wrexham is a big club and I've heard great things about the place. The team have been going great guns this season so I know I've got to play well to get into the side but I'm looking forward to the challenge."
Scotsman Leslie, who has not played since mid-December and has made only one appearance for Shrewsbury this season, becomes Wrexham's first signing during the January transfer window.
The second-placed Dragons welcome Bath to the Racecourse Ground on Saturday having lost for the first time in the league since the end of September.
