Middlesbrough remain without a league win since Boxing Day after being held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace.
Boro's Tony McMahon scooped over, while Kagisho Dikgacoi cleared Lukas Jutkiewicz's header off the line.
Promising Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha narrowly missed the target with two long-range drives.
Jermaine Easter then forced home keeper Jason Steele into making a fine save with an 18-yard strike from the edge of the area.
Steele, who was the busier of the two keepers, also turned Chris Martin's 25-yard drive round the post.
Former Newcastle midfielder Darren Ambrose then tested the home goal when he fired inches over from just outside the area.
Palace thought they had won a penalty when Joe Bennett brought down Zaha, but referee Mark Heywood adjudged the foul to have taken place outside the area.
The point for Dougie Freedman's side, also without a league victory in 2012, keeps them 14th in the Championship.
