Barrow sign Leeds United goalkeeper Alex Cairns

Barrow have signed goalkeeper Alex Cairns from Championship side Leeds United on a month-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old joins the Blue Square Bet Premier club fresh from signing a new two-year deal at Elland Road, and has made one first-team appearance.

"It's a good chance to get out and play some games and hopefully show what I can do," Cairns told the Leeds website.

"Training will be mixed between Barrow and Leeds so I'll still be able to work with Andy Lonergan and Maik Taylor."
