Bond praises Spurs defence
- From the section Football
Spurs assistant manager Kevin Bond says his side had to "defend for their lives" to win a "hard-fought point" during their goalless draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
Bond singles out Gareth Bale for creating "the best chance of the match", after the Welshman raced clean through with only six minutes left but shot straight against the legs of Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
Absent manager Harry Redknapp had his flight from London's City Airport cancelled, and Bond admits that the Spurs boss would have found the match far more "nerve-wracking" to watch from afar.
