Cheltenham 0-1 Torquay

Torquay moved level on points with League Two leaders Southend after they secured their seventh consecutive win, against second-placed Cheltenham.

Ian Morris poked home the only goal of the game after Brian Saah headed the ball back across goal.

Kaid Mohamed seized on a poor ball by Eunan O'Kane and burst through on goal, only to be denied by a fine save by Bobby Olejnik.

Olejnik was the hero again late on with a fine save to deny Russell Penn.

Torquay sit in third place in the table with 56 points, behind Cheltenham and Southend only on goal difference.

Robins are in a 'sticky patch' - Yates

"We conceded off a set piece which is disappointing. They have won their last four games by 1-0 now and we knew it was always going to be the first goal that was really important.

"We're not quite at it at the moment. We've got to keep working hard to turn it around. We're in there, nothing's over yet, we've got a good side - we just need to work through a little sticky patch that we're having.

"We've just got to pick ourselves up and keep believing because we don't become a bad side overnight.

"The only way we're going to get out of it is by sticking together and keep believing and keep trying to do what we do best.

"We're good enough to carry on and continue where we are in the league, but it's alright saying it - you've got to do it."

Torquay United boss Martin Ling told BBC Radio Devon:

"In terms of seven wins out of seven, I don't think I've ever done it, I don't think the lads have ever done it.

"To make it successfully throughout the whole season the squad will have to be called upon and the squad was called upon tonight."

"I thought Brian Saah was outstanding tonight. He's made the goal for us and then in the last minute he's come out of nowhere and cleared it off the line."

"For me, he's every bit as good as Chris Robinson who went to Preston."
