'New boss doesn't need to be English'

FA chairman David Bernstein says Fabio Capello's successor as England boss does not have to be English but admits to a preference for an English or British manager.

Bernstein says Capello's stance over John Terry's captaincy was "mega news" and as such forced the FA to call a meeting with the Italian, which resulted in his resignation.

The FA say they expect "to move quickly" to name a new England boss.
