Sheffield Utd 2-1 Preston

Ched Evans's brace helped Sheffield United come from behind to beat Preston and close the gap at the top of League One to six points.

The striker saw his weak penalty saved by Thorsten Stuckmann after he had been fouled by Aaron Brown.

Graham Cummins headed home Nicky Hunt's cross to give North End the lead, but Evans pounced to score the equaliser from close range.

Evans capitalised on poor defending to steer home a powerful winner.

Sheffield United had great composure, says Danny Wilson

"It was a very tough game for us, very physical game.

"The lovely thing from my point of view is that we kept our composure. We didn't get carried away and didn't get caught up in niggly little things that loose your focus.

"I thought they were fantastic in that respect overall from my point of view.

"It was a fantastic three points. We knew it was going to be a bit of a tricky game tonight."
