Cambridge United squad join Supporters Trust
The entire Cambridge United squad has joined the club's Supporters Trust, at the request of manager Jez George.
All of the U's senior players have signed up with Cambridge Fans United (CFU), which represents the interests of supporters at the Abbey Stadium.
"There was no arm twisting whatsoever, they understand how important it is and how much they get from our fans," George told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"I think it's really important for the club to go forward together."
He added: "We've got good lads here and we've brought in the right people. We want this club to stand for good values.
"The players here are not in the bubble that a lot of footballers operate in, which is detached from the real world."
CFU have helped the U's financially in the past, including a loan of £20,000 in 2006 to pay players' wages.
Cambridge, who were relegated into the Blue Square Bet Premier in 2005, are currently in 10th place, five points adrift of the play-offs.
