St Mirren manager Danny Lennon felt his side were fortunate to claim a point at Tannadice following the 0-0 draw with Dundee United.

"Every point that we've picked up on the road this season, we've had to dig deep and earn it. Today, I felt they gave us it," said Lennon.

"We didn't bring anything to the game, enough to go and try and impose to win.

"If you want to be challenging at that top end of the table then you've got to be a threat."

Lennon, however, was able to draw positives from his the Buddies' defensive display.

"I must commend my two centre-backs, I though they were absolutely outstanding in the second half," he said.

"Marc McAusland and Lee Mair were outstanding and Marc played the second-half with an injury so great credit."
