Nigel Clough refuses to back director of football role
Derby County manager Nigel Clough has confirmed the club are considering appointing a director of football, but has refused to welcome the move.
Weekend reports claimed Clough was unhappy that Watford's head of football business Ross Wilson was to be named.
Clough denied he had fallen out with chief executive Tom Glick, but stopped short of endorsing the new role.
"We are all having a chat about it, but we are not on a collision course," Clough told BBC East Midlands Today.
"Everybody at the training ground has far too much respect for Tom Glick for that.
"It [the new role] has been discussed within the club for several months. It's something that is ongoing. We are working towards a solution and what is best with the club.
"We are looking for a solution where we can improve everything we can."
Glick first revealed plans to bring in someone bolster the management set-up in May.
But no appointment has yet been made, despite Glick saying last June that they were on the verge of naming a director of football.
