Aldershot secured a club record sixth successive Football League win at the expense of Morecambe.
Danny Hylton looked likeliest to open the hosts' account but he could only fire wide before forcing a scrambling save from Barry Roche.
Guy Madjo showed him how it was done when he headed in Aaron Morris's cross, while Josh Payne preserved the lead by blocking Stewart Drummond's effort.
Troy Brown saw a straight red late on for a foul on Gary McDonald.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth told BBC Surrey:
"For us to win six games in a row in this division is nothing short of magnificent. Creating history isn't easy.
"It's another clean sheet, which is fantastic. It was a tough game.
"Morecambe passed the ball well but we kept our shape. It was a disciplined performance and we nullified them.
"On another day we could have got a little bit more but I love a 1-0 win. Now we want to see if we can get seven wins."
