Robin Shroot's fine volley rescued a point for Stevenage at Exeter.
Richard Logan brought down David Noble's high ball, wriggled free and poked home the opener for the Grecians.
The Boro went on to dominate the remainder of the half but Shroot headed horribly wide from close range with the goal at his mercy.
The onslaught continued after the break and Shroot made amends with a fine strike on the volley that flew into the net via both posts.
