Worcester City 2-1 Blyth Spartans

Worcester City beat Blue Square Bet North's bottom side Blyth Spartans to record their first victory in 2012.

Matt Birley put City ahead from close range five minutes before the break after being picked out in the box by top scorer Mike Symonds.

Michael Taylor marked his first league start by beating Wayne Buchanan to the ball and slotting it home to double their lead on 51 minutes.

Joe Kendrick's stunning free-kick made it 2-1 10 minutes from time.

"For 75% of the game we dominated," City boss Carl Heeley told BBC Hereford & Worcester.

"I don't think anyone could have argued if it was four or five."
