Preston were booed off the pitch as they failed to beat lowly Chesterfield.
The Lilywhites, who have only scored once in four games, saw Andy Procter miscue a good chance and Danny Mayor fail to hit the target from 15 yards.
Jordan Bowery's looping volley narrowly missed for Chesterfield and Mark Allott's effort was deflected clear.
The visitors nearly claimed the three points in injury time when Neal Trotman's fierce header beat Thorsten Stuckmann but bounced off the crossbar.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Chesterfield manager John Sheridan told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"I'm disappointed we didn't get three points and I thought it was a very good performance.
"We were really professional the way we went about it, but we know we've got to win games.
"It's a crying shame we didn't get a little break because we were the team trying to win it.
"Tommy Lee hasn't had a save to make, I thought we looked really solid and it's another clean sheet."
