Ayr United 1-0 Falkirk

Andrew Geggan's second-half strike gave Ayr United a win over Falkirk to boost their survival hopes and put dent the Bairns' promotion bid.

Adam Dodd had the first real chance of the game but his eighth-minute strike from distance was well saved by visiting keeper Michael McGovern.

Farid El Alagui wasted Falkirk's best chance of the first half as he headed Kieran Duffie's cross wide from close range.

Geggan then headed a corner straight at McGovern.

Micheal McGowan's shot was later fumbled by McGovern but the Bairns keeper recovered to complete the save.

Mark Roberts saw his attempt from distance blocked by Darren Dods before The Honest Men went ahead in the 72nd minute when Geggan rose to head home McGowan's corner.
