East Stirlingshire 6-3 Peterhead
Last updated on .From the section Football
East Stirling produced a scintillating first-half performance on their way to a win against a stunned Peterhead.
Peterhead scored within a minute through a curled Graeme Sharp effort from just inside the box.
Then came the onslaught from East Stirling, Michael Hunter rifling the equaliser home from 25 yards before Rhys Devlin's shot crept in at the near post for the lead.
A Ryan Strachan handball allowed Alexander Lurinsky to slot home a penalty before Scott Maxwell's stunning 35-yard strike and an Andrew Stirling header gave the home side a 5-1 lead at half time.
Peterhead responded after the break as Callum MacDonald tapped in a Bryan Deasley cross and Roy McBain lobbed over Calum Antell to make it 5-3.
Maxwell was then dismissed for two yellow cards to give Peterhead further hope of a comeback but MacDonald's reckless foul on Hunter saw him receive a red card and evened the sides out again. Stirling scored the resulting free-kick to round off a remarkable match.
