Wycombe 0-0 Colchester

Wycombe's survival hopes and Colchester's play-off ambitions stuttered as their match at Adams Park ended in stalemate.

The home side had scored nine goals in their previous two home matches but were unable to find a way past visiting goalkeeper Ben Williams.

Matt Bloomfield and Craig Eastmond all went close for the hosts, who remain in the bottom four.

Steven Gillespie had Colchester's best chance but was denied by Nikki Bull.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Colchester United manager John Ward told BBC Essex:

"We've had to work very hard to defend, there was a lot of long throws coming in our penalty box. Quite direct opponents, but effective and we had to deal with all of that.

"My back four and my goalkeeper, once again have been very strong and very solid.

"Its not as if my goalkeeper's kept us in the game, so I'm really pleased with the way the team as a whole is defending.

"At the top end, with the ball, we perhaps weren't quite as effective as we've been in recent weeks."
