Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 Bournemouth

Three goals inside the first 10 minutes inspired promotion-chasing Sheffield Wednesday to victory over Bournemouth.

Defender Danny Batth put the Owls ahead after good work by Michail Antonio.

Miles Addison scored a scrappy own goal to put Wednesday 2-0 up and Reading loanee Antonio beat Cherries keeper Darryl Flahavan at his near post.

Wes Thomas hit a post just before half-time for Bournemouth, who have now lost five games in a row - and failed to score in the last four of them.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Owls manager Dave Jones told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"For 20 minutes I thought it was going to be a rout, but when you take your foot off the gas it's hard to get it back.

"Everything I have asked, they've tried so I've got no complaints. I felt we were trying to play in our third, rather than our last third.

"It's a good victory. It was a bit ugly near the end but, because you can't pick the tempo up again, it's very difficult."

Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury told BBC Radio Solent:

"It was men against boys the first 15 minutes. I thought we froze a little bit. After that, once we'd grasped the game, we probably had the better chances in the game - four clear-cut chances that you'd expect to score.

"This is the third week in a row I've stood here and said we've created chances and got nothing out of the game. It's got to change straight away. We've got two big home games coming up and we've got to throw ourselves into them wholeheartedly.

"We didn't shut up shop well enough. If we go 1-0 down, we should make sure we don't go two down. We shouldn't be conceding the goals we're conceding."
