Mansfield maintained their push for a play-off spot with a hard-fought victory at Tamworth.
The Stags took an early lead when Matt Green fired into the bottom corner from inside the six-yard box.
Tamworth had to wait until midway through the second half for their first clear sight of goal when Francino Francis headed a corner over the bar.
Gary Roberts went close to doubling the visitors' lead but his free-kick was well saved by Jonathan Hedge.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"The lads have just gone that extra yard, working extremely hard to get results.
"Sometimes it's fine margins in football and at the minute we're winning football matches so the dressing room's buzzing.
"Sometimes we just have to knuckle down, roll up our sleaves and get a result. That's what matters at this point of the season.
"The football club seems to be coming together, the support today was really humbling and I think the players really do appreciate what the supporters are doing for us at the moment. Their support this season has been absolutely immense."
