Billy Clarke rescued a draw for fading Crawley as Aldershot missed a late chance to win all three points.
Aaron Morris's deflected strike put the Shots ahead, before Crawley's Gary Alexander levelled from the spot after Claude Davis was fouled.
Shots substitute Peter Vincenti then smashed a left-footed drive in from 16 yards, but Clarke levelled late on from six yards out from John Akinde's pass.
And Vincenti then blazed wide after Gilmartin's parry from Guy Madjo.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Crawley assistant manager Paul Raynor told BBC Sussex:
"We shouldn't have to score two goals to get a draw. We're at home. We're not used to conceding goals as freely as that.
"In the Conference you may be able to get away with things and they may put it over the bar.
"People are more clinical in Legaue Two and they punish you for mistakes, and we're certainly being punished at the moment."
