Grimsby 0-0 Tamworth

Grimsby's Blue Square Bet Premier play-off hopes received a blow after a goalless draw with Tamworth.

Mariners keeper Jonathan Hedge did well to deny Liam Hearn and Ian Miller early on, while Bradley Wood's 25-yard strike was blocked by Sam Oji.

Michael Coulson headed over the crossbar for the hosts.

And they were twice denied by the woodwork late on when Louie Soares's fierce drive hit a post and Shaun Pearson headed against the bar.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Grimsby Town joint-manager Rob Scott told BBC Radio Humberside:

"We said how they would come and set up and we saw their side when the team-sheets went in - they had seven defenders in their team.

"It was evident that they came here to do a certain job and they did it. That's disappointing from our performance.

"The biggest statistic that wasn't there was the goal and that's the frustrating point today.

"I don't think anyone hurt enough to get into the box in certain areas."
