Burton Albion 1-4 Torquay
Torquay boosted their promotion bid with an impressive win at Burton, in what proved to be Paul Peschisolido's final game as Brewers boss.
Danny Stevens opened the scoring before Lee Mansell doubled the lead.
Justin Richards pulled one back into an empty net after keeper Robert Olejnik collided with team-mate Brian Saah.
Rene Howe put the Gulls back in control after a breakaway move and Taiwo Atieno scored from six yards before Richards's late penalty was saved by Olejnik.
Peschisolido was relieved of his duties shortly after the final whistle, after the result stretched Burton's winless run to 14.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Torquay United manager Martin Ling told BBC Radio Devon:
"I thought in the first half we were excellent and in the second half we looked totally in control until our unfortunate error.
"I think the 4-1 scoreline is harsh on them, if I'm totally honest.
"I think Rene Howe was awesome all day."
Speaking after the game, Burton boss Paul Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby:
"I was disappointed with the performance today. We didn't start well and we were two goals down before you know it.
"In the second half we had a few chances to claw our way back and we took one of them and conceded another shortly afterwards. It's just not going our way at the minute.
"I've had a chat with the chairman previously and he's still very supportive, so we'll go from here. I still believe in these players and I still believe I can get us on the right side of this table and I've got to keep believing."
