Damon Gray came off the bench to rescue a late point for Berwick Berwick away to Montrose.
The Borderers were unbeaten on their last four away trips and came closest to opening the scoring in the first half, Lee Currie hitting the crossbar with a left-footed free-kick after 36 minutes.
Jamie Barclay then made a good save to deny Martin Boyle three minutes before half-time to keep the scores level.
The home side had won just one of their last eight league games but took the lead four minutes after the break, when Boyle got on the end of Scott Johnston's cross.
Gray forced Michael Andrews into a good save with a right-footed effort before the former Hibernian youngster headed Currie's resulting corner into the bottom corner 10 minutes from time.
