Rotherham 4-2 Macclesfield

Rotherham secured an impressive win against Macclesfield under caretaker boss Darren Patterson.

The Millers went ahead when Mark Bradley nodded in at the far post.

Ben Pringle slotted in for 2-0, but the Silkmen, playing under returning boss Brian Horton, replied when Matt Smith headed in Matt Hamshaw's corner.

Alex Revell fired in for 3-1, Lewis Chalmers scored from the spot after Mark Bradley tripped Smith, but Cadogen rounded it off at the third attempt.

It was an encouraging win for the home side, who parted company with former boss Andy Scott on Monday.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Rotherham United caretaker manager Darren Patterson told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"I thought the players were excellent from start to finish. We bossed the game, played some good stuff at times and created lots of chances.

"A massive amount of praise for the players and staff, it's been a horrendous couple of days for us.

"We're obviously devastated at losing Andy (Scott), but we were very professional today."
