A Matty Taylor brace helped Forest Green on their way to victory over high-flying Luton.
Rovers bossed the opening stages, taking the lead when Yan Klukowski swept home past keeper Kieron Forbes.
Stuart Fleetwood then saw his header saved for the Hatters, before Taylor curled in from the edge of the area to double the hosts' advantage.
Taylor then rounded off the scoring when he converted Eddie Oshodi's delivery to give Rovers victory.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday told BBC Gloucestershire:
"In the first 20 minutes we looked anxious and I've got to congratulate the crowd because they really got behind us.
"I'm pleased for the fans, the players and everybody because that's a great statement of intent.
"It was the best scoreline of the season but I think we've played better.
"I demanded a clean sheet and we got that but I'll say more of the same, please."
Luton Town manager Gray Brabin told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"I'd like to apologise to the fans, I'm sure they feel embarrassed and let down like I do.
"Sometimes you come off and you thank your players for digging in and getting the right result, but we certainly didn't do that today.
"I feel devastated - I didn't think we had that performance in us.
"I understand 100% why the fans are disappointed. I'd be the first to admit it's not good enough."
