Joel Lynch scored a 94th-minute equaliser as Nottingham Forest earned a deserved point against 10-man Brighton.
On-loan striker Sam Vokes headed home Vicente's free-kick on 63 minutes - Brighton's first attempt on target.
Adlene Guedioura slammed a 25-yard strike against the post for the hosts before Brighton substitute Matthew Sparrow was shown a second yellow card.
Forest capitalised on their numerical advantage when defender Lynch poked home after a Dexter Blackstock flick.
It was the least Forest deserved after striking the woodwork three times and creating numerous chances.
Guedioura flashed wide from distance in the 21st minute before Andy Reid bent a free-kick round the wall but against a post.
That galvanised Forest, and Reid's hanging delivery was nodded just wide by Blackstock while a Guedioura volley was also narrowly off-target.
The visitors had struggled to fashion any chances but in Vicente they possessed the one player capable of creating an opportunity, and his set-piece led to the opening goal.
Vokes broke the offside trap and met the Spaniard's enticing cross with a firm header.
Forest refused to let their heads drop and Guedioura saw a fierce shot punched away by Peter Brezovan before rattling the woodwork.
After Blackstock's tame effort rolled against a post, Sparrow received a second caution for pulling back Guedioura.
The hosts struck at the death when a long ball into Brighton's box was flicked on by Blackstock and, after Brezovan flapped, Lynch pounced.
Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cotterill:
"Two things stood out for me - our team spirit to keep going and the supporters, who were magnificent.
"There was a connection today and the fans realised we played some fantastic football at times. They stayed with us right to the end and they got their rewards when we got the equaliser.
"The fans gave the team a standing ovation at the end - and it's what the players deserved."
Brighton manager Gus Poyet:
"We got lucky today but we need to do a lot better than that away from home. I'm happy to take the point and run home quickly!
"Although we didn't play well today, if we keep winning our home games and picking up a point away, we will make the play-offs.
"We needed more urgency in our play and we didn't take the responsibility we should have done to create things when we were on the ball.
"It was like we were on the pitch waiting for things to happen and that's not the way to win football matches."
