Wycombe 1-1 MK Dons

Relegation-battling Wycombe struck late to secure a vital point against promotion-chasing MK Dons.

Nikki Bull prevented the Chairboys from going behind early on when he saved Jay O'Shea's penalty after Marvin McCoy brought down Alan Smith.

But the Dons went ahead just a minute later when Daniel Powell slotted home Charlie MacDonald's long ball.

Stuart Beavon extended Wycombe's unbeaten run to five games, heading in Gareth Ainsworth's corner at the death.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Wycombe manager Gary Waddock told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"It was an important week for us, the lads have picked up a number of points with two away games and then to score right at the death with Beavs (Stuart Beavon) is a fantastic end to the week.

"We had to change it a little bit with Hayesy (on-loan Paul Hayes) going back to Charlton and then we picked up Blooms' injury (Matt Bloomfield), Dave's injury (Dave Winfield), Jonno suspended (Leon Johnson), so we had to juggle it around a little bit.

"But it's about the squad - that's why you put a squad together. We had a very young bench - when you look at that and compare it to the MK Dons bench where they had a lot of experience - but we've got some very good young players within the group, so we brought them up."
