Ryan Conroy bagged a brace as Dundee climbed to second place in Division One with a win over 10-man Morton at Cappielow.
Conroy opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Andy Graham fouled Kevin McBride in the area and the striker calmly stepped up to stroke the penalty into the bottom corner.
The home side almost got back on level terms four minutes later when Peter MacDonald's drilled effort was blocked behind for a corner and the same player headed the resulting set-piece narrowly over.
Morton goalkeeper Alan Combe then tipped Carl Finnigan's header over on the half-hour mark before Conroy found space in the area to fire in his seventh goal of the season.
Any hopes of come back for the home side disappeared when striker Peter Weatherson was shown a straight red card for a foul on Jamie McCluskey after 64 minutes.
