Glasgow City open with win as Spartans rout Falkirk Ladies

Eilish McSorley scored twice in Glasgow City's win

Scottish Womens' Premier League champions Glasgow City opened the defence of their title with a 6-0 away win against Forfar Farmington.

Jane Ross fired a hat-trick with Eilish McSorley netting a double and Christie Murray also on target.

Elsewhere, Patricia McLaughlin scored four and Lana Clelland claimed a treble in Spartans' 11-1 defeat of Falkirk.

Celtic beat Rangers 3-0 and there were also wins for Aberdeen, Hibernian and Hutchinson Vale.

The Dons beat visitors Hamilton by a single goal, Inverness City lost 2-0 at Hibs and Vale were 5-2 victors against hosts Kilmarnock.
